Kitchen Tour

A tour of the heart of our home, the kitchen.  Just a regular, mostly outdated/partially updated, un-chic kitchen where each tacky trinket tells a story of my heart.

I picked up the tablecloth in Perugia, Italy 10 years ago. It takes me back on that beautiful trip.
Kitchen Friends:

Jesus...A replica of the San Damiano Crucifix.  It reminds me to be always attentive to the ways God may want to speak to me, as He did to St. Francis of Assisi by way of this crucifix.

ALWAYS, always a cup of coffee going.

Kissing Dutch kids. Tribute to The Husband's Dutch heritage and a reminder for him to Kiss the Cook.

With no window over the sink, this is all I have to look at while doing dishes.  But it's all I need - an inspirational thought to ponder wrapped up in the thoughtfulness and love of the friend who gave it to me.

Friar Cookie! He sat in Grandma H.'s kitchen forever and she kept it full for the little thieves who came to visit. Uh-oh, empty!

Antique Coffee Grinder in Dutch Blue we picked up as a souvenir on our honeymoon.

Last but not least, where all the magic happens.

Old, mismatched with the other appliances, broken dials, and permanent splatter marks in the oven is what most would see at first glance.  But we have an understanding and a mutual regard for one another that only comes from working together so long.  She's a grand old thing, she never lets me down.
